So, you want to know more about my background and about what it is that I do? Ok, here it goes…

Ever since I first started using the Internet in the mid 90-ties as a teenager, I was curious about how we could use this new medium to learn new things and share experiences with people from all over the world. It was therefore no surprise that I decided to study Media Communications at a computer science faculty. I was especially interested in interpersonal online communication and in creating multimedia content.
Along the way, I got the opportunity to work as a tutor for an online course and found the job both challenging and immensely rewarding. E-learning and especially effective online tutoring has since become one of the central focuses of my research and work.
Wanting to learn more about the best ways to use technology in education led me to discover the rich edutech blogosphere and even made me start my own blog. I also started experimenting with other so-called Web 2.0 technologies (social networks, collaboration software, virtual worlds like Second Life) and introduced them into the online e-business course I was tutoring. During this time I also acquired a Moodle Teacher Certificate, which has helped me to become proficient in using this powerful online learning management system.
After graduation, I decided to use what I learned about online communication and my experience with various online communities and co-founded Artesia, a company that provides consulting in the fields of social media, mobile technologies, online communities and virtual worlds. I continue to enjoy using the internet to explore the world around us, and on this site you can find an up-to-date list of online places that I’m actively using either in my personal or professional life.
When I need a break from the online life, I love entertaining Epic (our cat), running or taking long walks, seeing a movie (especially smart comedies), watching well written TV shows like Lost, reading books on my iPad, taking (mostly cat) photos with my iPhone, and cooking delicious healthy meals with my husband. And I hope to learn Japanese some day.
